Mazen is passionate for the industry and also prepared to speak his mind so this is sure to be an interesting 45 minutes.

CEO/Co-Founder of Hawkers Beer

A serial entrepreneur, before establishing Hawkers Beer in Melbourne, Mazen was one of the youngest CEOs of an airline in the world when he raised 50 USD million to start the first low-fare airline in the Middle East at the age of 29. He comes from an investment banking background till he decided to change career and focus on his one true passion, beer. During the July 2006 Israeli war with Hizbollah, he started 961 Beer brewing his first batches in his kitchen. 961 Beer has grown to export to 26 countries. Their Lager has won international accolades and won gold at the 2012 International Hong Kong Beer Awards as Best Lager. His career and beers have been covered extensively in the international press including CNN, Wallpaper, New York Times, IHT, BBC, Financial Times, ARTE, Spiegel, ABC, among many others. Mazen has a Masters degree from School of Oriental and African Studies (London, UK) and a BA from the American University of Beirut (Beirut, Lebanon).
